What I’m Working On Right Now

At this moment, I am working on my husband’s family tree, as his father just passed away at age 90. I wrote Dad a book more than a decade ago with his ancestors and many, many cousins. Due to a major computer failure I am transferring the printed pages I created into my online genealogy program so I will never lose it again. It will take me some time as I documented his English ancestors back to the 15th century. In addition to English ancestors, his mother was Dutch, her grandparents having come to New York in the mid-19th century.

I have been working on my family history since I was 12 year old. More than 40 years later, I am just as enthusiastic about it as I was at 12 listening to my great grandmother's stories. Several times over the years, family members have suggested I share not only our family history, but the tips, pitfalls, and frustrations of this journey through my past. So, at this point of transition in my life, I am going to try to bring others on this journey and share my experiences. I hope you enjoy the trip.
